Just Meatloaf Recipes




 

Meatloaf

16 ounces Tomato sauce -- divided
2 White bread slices -- torn into pieces
1 lg Egg
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
1 md Onion -- chopped
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
3 lb Ground chuck

Combine 1 can tomato sauce, white bread, and next 5 ingredients. Let stand 10 minutes or until bread is softened.

Combine beef and tomato mixture; shape into 2 loaves. Place on a lightly greased rack in a broiler pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Top with remaining can tomato sauce, and bake 5 more minutes. Serve 1 loaf immediately, and cool remaining loaf. Freeze cooled loaf up to 1 month; to reheat, thaw in refrigerator overnight, and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Makes 2 loaves.
